Councillor Phillips, the present Mayor of Brighton and Hove, is a member of the Green Party, and was elected as the MEP for the South East England constituency at the European Parliament elections of May 2019, as the lead candidate on the Green party list.
Ivor Caplin will be the guest speaker at The Village Metropolitan Community Church on July 29.
Ivor was MP for Hove between 1997-2005, during which time he served in the Labour Government as a PPS, FCO whip, and Minister for veterans at the Ministry of Defence. He was also the first Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on English Language Teaching.
The Village MCC is once again hosting the LGBT+ Mind Body Spirit Fair at this year’s B Right On Festival. This year’s Fair approach will allow visitors to wander around all the offerings from the varied groups including Radical Faeries, Pagans, Christians, Muslims, and many others.
The Village MCC Church will be assisting the Brighton & Hove LGBT Community Safety Forum in the access area at the Summer of Love Pride festival on Saturday, August 5 on Preston Park. They will be offering temporary tattoos, card readings and providing a listening ear post.
