I can’t think of a better way to have spent my birthday other than attending The Actually Gay Men’s Chorus Christmas Concert, It’s Actually Christmas at St Andrews Church, Hove on Saturday, December 22 alongside the Deputy Lieutenant Hugh Burnett, Cllr Dee Simpson Mayor of Brighton and Hove and a church packed to the seams eager to hear the Christmas concert – the Star on the top of the proverbial tree of concerts in 2018.

Brighton and Hove’s ‘Actually’ Gay Men’s Chorus will present their annual Christmas concert Let it Snow! at St Andrew’s Church, Hove on Friday, December 22 at 8pm. The men from Actually look forward to warming you up with their festive version of chorus favourites such as The Spirit of Christmas and O Holy Night as well as some lesser well known but equally beautiful and atmospheric musical moments.
The Actually Gay Men’s Chorus (AGMC) are renowned for singing show tunes! Their last show included songs from Guys and Dolls, A Chorus Line, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Jekyll & Hyde, Follies and Rent. They sing songs from a broad range of other genres also, with Love Actually, their Pride show, including songs by The Troggs, The Beatles, Shakespeare’s Sister and Whitney Houston, alongside opera classics from Bizet and Puccini, sung in their original language.
Resound Male Voices, a Brighton based ensemble singing group who come together weekly to make amazing music are looking for baritone and bass voices to join them. Led by Stefan Holmstrom, this active group perform a diverse range of music including; jazz, classical, folk and modern day.
Love Actually – the contribution by Actually Gay Men’s Chorus to this years Brighton Pride celebrations was the perfect way to mark the 50th Anniversary of the partial repeal of the Sexual Offences Act 1967 in England and Wales.
