Simon Kirby, Conservative MP for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven is furious about plans to build a second outdoor swimming pool at the Peter Pan site on Madeira Drive in Brighton. Saltdean Lido to receive £2.3 million funding from Government

Planning Minister visits City

Planning Minister Brandon Lewis MP visited the Saltdean Lido on Friday, January 9 to discuss planning issues affecting local residents.
Since 2010 the Government has taken a number of steps to ensure brownfield land is prioritised for new housing development – including abolishing top-down regional strategies which had earmarked Green Belt land for new development, and selling enough publicly-owned, surplus brownfield sites for 100,000 homes.

Kirby lobbies Minister on behalf of Saltdean Lido

Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven, yesterday met with a Minister from the Department for Communities and Local Government to press the case for funding for the Saltdean Lido.
The Lido, has already benefitted from a substantial amount of Government funding to enable it to reopen the swimming pool this summer, but still needs to raise money to complete the refurbishment of the Centre.
