Rainbow Crossing Unveiled in Wandsworth
Marc Silver founder of Brighton based LGBT+ Travel Agency beOUTbeFREE.com campaigns to have a ‘Rainbow Crossing’ on St James Street in Kemp Town, Brighton.
Devon-based grassroots LGBT community organisation Proud2Be Project has announced plans to install Europe’s first permanent rainbow zebra crossing, in the rural town of Totnes in Devon.
Last year, Proud2Be laid down a temporary crossing outside St Mary’s Church in the High Street, in the lead up to the second-ever Pride event in Totnes.
Transport for London (TfL) will be rolling out London’s first ever rainbow crossing in Trafalgar Square, to mark the moment that same-sex couples can convert their civil partnerships into marriages, following legalisation of the Marriage (same sex couples) Act 2013 which comes in to full-force tomorrow, Wednesday 10 December 10, 2014.
