Brighton Fringe is asking for support from local communities in Brighton and Hove to help win funding as part of the Aviva Community Fund 2018. Brighton Fringe needs votes to increase their chances of winning funding of £10,000 which they hope will fund 2019’s Fringe City and Family Picnics.
Brighton Fringe announces details of its 2018 Family Guide cover competition. Children from across Brighton and Hove are being invited to design the cover of the 2018 Brighton Fringe Family Guide. Children under 11 years of age are being challenged to create a piece of original cover art inspired by the tagline for Brighton Fringe 2018: “Set Yourself Free”.
With two days until opening, Brighton Fringe has hit 1,000 events for the first time in the festival’s history. When Brighton Fringe announced its programme in March, 970 events had registered to take part, but additional artists registering online means Brighton Fringe 2017 now includes 1,000 events.
To celebrate its biggest ever festival, Brighton Fringe joins forces with The Warren to kick-start the festival with fireworks on the opening night. On Thursday May 4, fireworks will be launched from the top of St Peter’s Church to mark the opening of England’s largest arts festival.
