Brighton & Hove received news today that the city council’s bid for Lottery funding to restore Stanmer Park has been successful.
Plans for a £5.8 million restoration at the heart of Stanmer Park move closer as council submits bid for Stage 2 Heritage Lottery Funding. The Stanmer Park and Estate Restoration Project aims to restore around 20 hectares of the park’s landscape, and Grade II listed buildings.
With one year to go to the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemptown & Peacehaven urges local communities to apply for new Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) funding to explore the impact of the war. Following the success of its community grants programme First World War: then and now, HLF has made an additional £4million available in 2015/16 for communities looking to explore, conserve and share local heritage of the First World War. Grants are available between £3,000 to £10,000.
The Saltdean Lido will receive £4.7 million in funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to help restore the Lido and the surrounding area to prosperity, whilst also restoring one of the UK’s most iconic Lidos. Saltdean Lido Community Interest Company will immediately receive £576,000 for development funding, with the further £4.2 million being awarded later in the year.
