Global recording artist Jessie J and legendary LGBT+ Icon Grace Jones will headline LoveBN1Fest, on Sunday, Sunday, August 4 as part of Brighton & Hove Pride Festival 2019.
Grace Jones and Friends Live (a one night only event on October 25) promises an enlightening evening with the inimitable icon. Grace will discuss her life and work with some of her closest collaborators, from the worlds of music, fashion, art and film, following an exclusive preview of Sophie Fiennes’ highly anticipated new film Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami.
Grace Jones is often lauded as an icon of grandiose style, almost a caricatured great-aunt to the somewhat clumsy niece Ga Ga, her music often taking a back seat in our distant memories of “didn’t she do…”. Her current run of album reissues should go some way to cementing her place in the hall of music legends , a piece in the jigsaw of substance alongside the post modernist style.
