Just a few minutes in a hot car can be fatal for dogs, so Brighton & Hove Council’s enforcement officers will join Dogs Trust to help prevent dogs dying in hot cars this summer.
Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemptown & Peacehaven has been supporting the Royal Mail’s fourth annual Dog Awareness Week. Royal Mail has been working together with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Dogs Trust, the National Dog Warden association and the National Police Chief’s Council to raise awareness of dog attacks on postal workers and has been encouraging responsible dog ownership during Dog Awareness Week which finishes today, July 9.
A new law comes into effect today requiring all dogs in England, Scotland and Wales to be microchipped. If local authorities find a dog is not microchipped, the owner will have up to 21 days to comply with the law or be fined up to £500.
