Brighton & Hove Council’s Healthwalks team is asking you dig out your torch or LED lantern, wrap up warm, and join them for the seventh annual Seafront Torch Walk on Saturday, March 28 at 8.30pm. The one mile walk along Brighton seafront, from the Bandstand to the Palace Pier, is in aid of World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF’s) Earth Hour, when the charity’s supporters around the world take action to raise awareness of climate change.
VisitBrighton, Brighton and Hove City Council’s tourism arm, is looking for people with local knowledge and a passion for the city to join its team of on-street volunteers, the City Champions. The role involves welcoming visitors and offering help and advice about what to see and do in the city during their stay.

Brighton Marina could be designated a Business Neighbourhood Area – the first of its kind in Brighton & Hove.
A group of people living and working at the Marina, along with two councillors representing the area, have made an application to Brighton & Hove City Council to gain formal approval for a Neighbourhood Forum and Business Neighbourhood Area.
Approval has been granted for residents in Hove to have their own Neighbourhood Forum, giving them a bigger sayin plans for their area. The Hove Station Neighbourhood Forum is the first to be established in the city and it means that residents and businesses have won the statutory right to draw up their own Neighbourhood Plan which will be taken into account when deciding planning applications.
Around 30 independent retailers across Brighton & Hove are receiving expert advice on how to make the most of their window displays, as part of a package of support for small businesses from Brighton & Hove City Council in the run up to Christmas.
