A number of local businesses are raising money for HIV charity The Sussex Beacon, in the run up to and during Brighton Pride this week. A team from The Sussex Beacon will be on an open top bus during the Pride parade, to thank local people for their support.
A charity event is being staged at Brighton Rocks to raise money for Victim Support, an organisation which offers practical and emotional help to victims of crime. As crime within and towards the LGBT community often goes unreported, this event aims to raise awareness of the support available to victims of crime as well as raising funds for the work of the charity.
Phil Corbett’s From Under A Rock looks like, at first glance looks like a collection of possible cartoon video game characters. Phil comes from a background in kid’s TV and game design after all. But upon closer inspection, these cute images are riddled with really dark undertones. Bizarre living pastries, multi headed birds and cats struggling with online dating are just some of the subjects tackled in this large collection of ink works.
