2015 has been a record-breaking year for Brighton Bear Weekender (BBW). More events, more men and more money raised for the Rainbow Fund than ever before. Chris Murphy who originally had the idea for the BBW has been appointed as the organisations new Patron.
Brighton Bear Weekender raise record £5453 for the Rainbow Fund from fourteen events for bears and their admirers over the 3rd weekend in June. It was a record-breaking year for Brighton Bear Weekender (BBWE) 2015 with more events on offer than previous years, bringing more visitors to the city and more fun all round for everyone to enjoy.
Brighton Bear Weekender (BBWE) 2015, held over the weekend of June 19-21, was the biggest and best yet raising £5,653 for the Rainbow Fund. An estimated 500 people from all corners of the UK, attended a variety of events over the course of the weekend with many visitors coming from Europe and further afield.
“Grrr! the south’s biggest men only dance night returns to headline the Brighton Bear Weekender (BBWE). The Latest Music Bar in Manchester Street, will provide two floors of mayhem, with music from DJ Rob C (Hoist, Eagle, RVT, Energy Bears) playing the best in Anthems and commercial dance.
With just four days to go to the start of Brighton Bear Weekender 2015, comedienne Zoe Lyons dons a BBW t-shirt to commence the countdown to this years 6th Annual Brighton Bear Festival. The Brighton Bear Weekender starts this Friday, June 19 with an opening party and welcome night at the A-Bar on Marine Parade from 8pm hosted by Mysterry.
The south coast’s biggest fun-packed event for Bears returns from Friday, June 19 – Sunday, June 21, featuring a sparkling line up of events over three bear packed days. There will be a special Quiz Night at the Camelford Arms, Camelford Street on Thursday, June 18 to get everyone in the mood for the main event.
Brighton Bear Weekender have their annual quiz at the Camelford Arms on Thursday March 5. It is very simple to enter; just get a team together then trot down to the Camelford Arms on March 5, grab a table, answer the most questions right and prize money of up to £300 is there for the taking.
The quiz starts at 9.00 p.m. but if you want a table get there no later than 8 p.m. Better still have dinner at the Camelford at 7 p.m., which will guarantee you a table. If you’re planning to eat, you can always phone up and reserve a table on 01273 622386.
Brighton Bear Weekender held their first ever Bingo Bears night at Brighton’s A Bar on Sunday February 15 2015, hosted by the lovely Mysterry. A bijou but enthusiastic audience enjoyed a dazzling set of tunes from Mysterry, interspersed with two nail-biting rounds of bingo.
Brighton Bear Weekender (BBW) are a not-for-profit organisation who raise money for local LGBT/HIV groups through fundraising events for bears and their admirers and friends.
Their main fundraising event each year is the summer Brighton Bear Weekender, which this year will take place on June 19-21.
A ONE OFF special fundraiser organised by the Brighton Bear Weekender guys, GRRR!! FOR MEN, arrives in town on Saturday, December 13 at Envy above Charles Street. A men only dance night that promises great funky house music from DJs Josh The Barber and Gary Watts, drinks promos and a fantastic cruisy atmosphere.
