LESLEY Joseph will star as Miss Hannigan in the smash hit production of the musical Annie at the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne from Tuesday, August 13 – Saturday, August 17. Lesley joins Alex Bourne as Oliver Warbucks, Richard Meek as Rooster, Jenny Gayner as Lily and Carolyn Maitland as Grace Farrell and a full supporting cast.
The story of Annie is well documented. Young orphan Annie escapes the clutches of the wicked Miss Hannigan who runs the orphanage and after an unsuccessful nationwide search to find her parents is adopted by billionaire Daddy Warbucks.
The world’s favourite orphan comes to Eastbourne in August when Strictly Come Dancing judge, Craig Revel Horwood stars as the tyrannical Miss Hannigan. Set during The Great Depression in 1930s New York, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery and torment at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.
Musical Theatre fans in Eastbourne will be spoilt for choice in 2015 with productions of Dirty Dancing, Calamity Jane, Anything Goes, Oklahoma, Sound of Music and Annie. Eastbourne Theatres will be offering musical theatre fans ‘The Time of Their Life’ next year as Dirty Dancing kicks off an unprecedented year of large-scale musical productions at the Congress Theatre from January 13-24.
