Writing Our Legacy @ Changing Chalk, a new collaboration between National Trust, South Downs National Park Authority and the writers and creatives of Writing Our Legacy, is to launch on October 18.
This is a four-year programme from 2022 to 2025 that will engage the general public and writers, creatives and audiences from the Black, Asian and ethnically diverse communities, connecting them to the unique chalk grassland of the Sussex Downs and the communities of the urban coastal fringe of Brighton & Hove, Lewes and Eastbourne, through literature, creative writing, storytelling and other arts and cultural activity.
Led by Black, Asian and ethnically diverse writers and artists, Writing Our Legacy @ Changing Chalk provides a platform for enhancing nature connection in a safe, creative space. It is part of the wider Changing Chalk programme funded by National Lottery Heritage with National Trust as Lead. The programme will include the following:
