Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) is seeking your views on the agreed design for Valley Gardens PHASE 3 – the Old Steine to the Palace Pier area. To take part, CLICK HERE.
In October 2018, BHCC sought views on a preferred design for the area and results from this consultation were used to develop this design which was then approved by the Environment, Transport and Sustainability Committee in February 2019.
The key principles of the design include:
- Traffic layout on the eastern side of the Old Steine
- New areas of public space
- New traffic signals at the Palace Pier junction replacing the current roundabout
- The route of the cycle lanes to the west of the Old Steine
You have till Wednesday, September 16 to submit your views and the results of this consultation will be reported to the Environment, Transport and Sustainability Committee on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 together with any proposed changes to the detail of the design. The committee will then make a decision on the final design. It is expected that construction could start in Spring 2021 and be completed by Autumn 2022.
If you require a paper copy of the plan and supporting information or a paper copy of the questionnaire email: transport.projects@brighton-hove.gov.uk and include Valley Gardens PHASE 3 in the subject line or call 01273 290 390.
