Trans Pride Hastings to bring trans joy to the town on 27 and 28 July

Trans Pride Hastings came into being in February 2023. Victoria and Zed are the company co-directors and co-organisers and in July 2023 they worked with a team of volunteers to deliver 15 events across eight days focusing on community building, support and celebration.

This year’s Trans Pride Hastings kicks off with the Big Queer Party at The Observer Building, 53 Cambridge Road Hastings TN34 1DT on Saturday  July 27 from 7pm till late. Enjoy torch songs from Buoy; cabaret from Dairy King and Sharon Le Grand; an interactive performance from The Drakes (Trans Care), Luc Grey (Trans Joy) and Mastolf & Mastej (Trans Form); and dancefloor shenanigans from DJ Suzi Mx and Sarah Buller

Organisers say: “This is a party for all queer folk and allies to show love and support for our trans community.”

Trans Pride Hastings continues on Sunday, July 28 with Trans Pride Fest at Hastings Museum, TN34 1ET from 12 – 6pm. Meet trans charity the Clare Project and Fox Fisher, who makes films for My Genderation. On the day, enjoy swim sessions, a queer market, trans history hunt, big dog energy, Queer Ass Folk Stage, food stalls and picnic area, demos and tasters, workshops and more.

The Clare Project say: “We are really looking forward to having a stall at Trans Pride Hastings Trans Pride Fest! Come say hi, come help out, bring a picnic, bring a dog! There’ll be a queer market, a trans history hunt, doggy shenanigans, live performances, food stalls, demos, workshops and more!”
