REPRESENTED, a new storytelling course for trans, non-binary, intersex and gender non-conforming people living in East Sussex, is to take place at Brighton’s LGBTQ+ community and culture centre, the Ledward Centre, from Monday, May 29 – Monday, July 31 at 6pm.
Over a series of ten, two-hour workshops, attendees will explore questions of creative expression and representation. In a supportive and nurturing environment, you’ll get the chance to tell your own story and express who you are on your own terms through creative writing, poetry and spoken word.
Organisers say: “Together we’ll explore how our identities can inform our creative expression.
“The workshops will be free and fun, and open to all levels – no previous experience is needed, just a desire to explore your creative side.
“Our vision is for the group to evolve into a peer support network that extends beyond the life of this pilot project. We have funding in place for the group to get together outside of the workshop setting to go to an event or take part in an activity together.”
These workshops are FREE and open to people (18+) who identify as trans, non-binary, intersex or gender non-conforming and who live in East Sussex.
There are 15 spaces available and booking is essential.
