Sussex-based LGBTQ+ youth charity, Allsorts Youth Project, is currently recruiting for new trustees.
Trustees play a vital role in the life of Allsorts. It is their job to support the project and hold it to account, ensuring children and young people feel safe, listened to and supported, whilst they continue to explore, grow and feel more confident with their sexuality and/or gender identity.
An existing Allsorts Trustee commented: “The best part of being a trustee is seeing how your contribution has helped the children and young people who use the project, flourish. You will feel a deep sense of pride and satisfaction watching those who access the project’s services develop in confidence and a feeling of authenticity, as they find their way in a seemingly more critical world.”
Allsorts is particularly looking for people who have skills in financial management, marketing and PR and governance. By joining the trustee board at Allsorts, you will be joining a team that is responsible for ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction, holding the CEO to account for the performance of the project, and overseeing the financial performance of the project and making sure its money is well spent.
Allsorts Youth Project is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. The charity particularly encourage applications from people from intersectional and minority groups, including trans and non-binary people, people of colour, people with disabilities, and/or are neurodiverse.
Allsorts CEO, Katie, said: “We are a growing charity, with a widening reach across Sussex, so it’s a really exciting time to be joining the project. We are looking for people who are passionate about ensuring LGBTQ+ children, young people and their families are listened to and supported.
“We strongly encourage anyone with an enquiring, strategic, reflective and thoughtful mind to get in touch or apply, and we look forward to welcoming successful candidates on board.”
