Survivor Spaces: Creating our own safe spaces with Michael Hyde and Brighton & Hove LGBTQ+ Switchboard is to take place at The Queery in Brighton on Tuesday, February 21 from 3 – 5pm.
In this workshop and led-meditation, Michael Hydes will share simple techniques that can be used to create an inner safe-space, and an example of how to utilise that space in clearing negative emotions.
Survivor Spaces are open sessions for LGBTQ+ people who have experienced domestic abuse. Tea, coffee and cake are provided.
Brighton & Hove LGBTQ+ Switchboard say: “These groups are peer-support spaces that are co-produced with attendees. An IDVA from Switchboard will be at each session to facilitate, manage conversations and be there for support if anyone requires it. The Survivor Spaces are not designed to be therapeutic spaces. There is an expectation that we review our group agreement at the beginning of every session.
“Domestic abuse can look different to each person- if you’re not sure that this is the right space for you, email domestic.abuse@switchboard.org.uk.”
