Now in its third year the film festival, curated by Bristol Pride, presents a diverse programme of LGBTQ+ films from around the globe, including independently made feature, animation, features and award-winning short films and screens films hosted during the annual Pride festival and throughout the year across Bristol.
Queer Vision is a partner to the Cardiff-based Iris Prize short film competition and each year takes submissions for the Best of British short film category.
To be eligible all entries should be from UK citizens or those who have been resident in the UK for at least three consecutive years prior to submitting your film. The films should be by, for, about or of significant interest to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, non-binary or intersex audiences, have been completed since 22 June 2018 and have a running time of 39 minutes or less.
The winning film is then automatically entered into the finals of the Iris Prize Best British Short where the winning film will receive a package of sound post-production services sponsored by Pinewood Studios Group, valued at £20,000, and be invited to Cardiff to sit on the 2021 Iris Prize Best British Jury. This year, for the first time, all films in the Iris Prize Best British 2020 shortlist, which includes the winner from Bristol, will be broadcast on Film4 and streamed on their online streaming service, All 4.
