Studio 3 Arts in Barking and Dagenham will mark LGBTQ+ History Month this month with Be & Do, an arts-led LGBTQ+ group where Studio 3 Arts will be hosting several FREE events in a relaxed, supportive and fun atmosphere that gives people a chance to connect with others.
Thursday, February 18 at 7pm: Spoken, Not Stirred LGBTQ+ poetry open mic night with featured artist Antonia Jade King, a Barbican Young Poet whose debut piece of work She Too Is a Sailor is out now.
Thursday, February 25 at 7.30pm: an extra special social meeting for the LGBTQ+ community on Zoom, hosted by Matty May and Grace Duggan.
Saturday, February 27 at 7.30pm: A Queer Night Out (But In) celebrates LGBTQ+ History Month with a line-up of live online performances from one-person cabaret troupe Rhys’s Pieces, acclaimed drag king Christian Adore, poet Chris White and the queen of balls Fatt Butcher with a very camp and naughty Disco Bingo.
Liza Vallance, Artistic Director at Studio 3 Arts, said: “Lockdown is hard for everyone, and a winter lockdown particularly so. With that in mind we’ve put together an online programme of creative events including LGBTQ+ History Month events to keep us connected whilst we’re physically apart.”
