Birmingham Bulls RUFC, the city’s pioneering inclusive rugby club, has announced the launch of its new touch rugby team, the Longhorns, which has started training at Yardley & District RFC and will train every Monday from 7pm – 8.30pm.
The Longhorns aim to offer a fully inclusive environment for everyone to enjoy rugby, with no limitations – particularly welcoming members of the trans community and others seeking a non-contact, accessible version of the sport.
The creation of the Longhorns is a significant step in Birmingham Bulls RUFC’s ongoing mission to provide a space where rugby can be enjoyed by all, regardless of gender, identity, age, or fitness level.
David Cumpston, Chair of Birmingham Bulls RUFC, said: “We can now finally offer a truly inclusive environment for everyone to participate in rugby with no limitations as to who can participate. The Longhorns allow people to engage in a fun, competitive sport while feeling safe and supported.”
