Shared Lives – make a caring start to 2020!
Are you looking for a life-changing job you can do in your own home?
Brighton & Hove City Council‘s ‘Shared Lives’ scheme is looking for more carers. Shared Lives is a way to support adults who are unable to live independently. The scheme places adults with carers who offer accommodation, care and support in their own home. You can find out more at their information event on Wednesday 8 January.
It runs from 10am to 2pm at the Brighthelm Centre café, North Road, Brighton, BN1 1YD.
Some Shared Lives carers do it on a full-time, others on a short-breaks or sessional basis. It is similar to fostering. All kinds of people can be Shared Lives carers: couples or singles, with or without children, LGBTQ or hetero, home owners or tenants. Full training and support are provided. You are paid based on the needs of each person you support.
