Get your queer history geek AND your dancing shoes on for Queer History Club(bing!) at Ironworks Studios, Brighton BN1 4GD on Sunday, January 30, which promises to be a very special edition – 50% History Talk – 50% Disco – 100% Queer Heritage fun!
This event will bring together legendary club promoters from Brighton & Hove’s LGBTQ+ nightlife who will be taking you on a trip down the memory lane of their favourite dancefloors and the history of their wild nights! Listen to the stories of how some of Brighton most famous and infamous club nights came to be, bars that have long disappeared, speakeasies, intrigue and politics, and the many ways our community has come together in the years.
Talks from Sam Milford and Alf Le Flohic, pioneers behind Brighton’s first photographic nightlife archive and social platform REALBrighton, will be followed by a DJ set from queer DJs, promoters and radio presenters Wildblood & Queenie, who will be taking you through decades of good music.
