A new poll has predicted the Green Party will hold on to the Brighton Pavilion seat at the next General Election under its new candidate Sian Berry.
The poll by Electoral Calculus predicts the party has a 100% chance of winning the seat with Sian Berry, who is to replace Caroline Lucas MP as Green Party candidate, receiving 86% of votes cast.
Sian Berry said: “This poll predicts a big win but my campaign has started without any expectations. I will be working hard on the ground from now until election day to make another Green majority a reality for Brighton Pavilion.
“I know voters need to meet me and hear more about my work to put their faith in me on polling day.
“Listening to people on the doorstep, they are telling me Brighton is proud of being the place that returned the country’s first Green MP.
“It means Brighton has had a louder voice in Parliament and most residents want that to continue.
“As the Tories get worse every day, and Labour shifts further and further away from their promises on action to stop climate chaos and support people living in poverty, voters can see the need for a Green MP to represent them in Parliament.”
