Marine Tavern enters team into Rockinghorse Dragon Boat Festival in Brighton Marina on Sunday, April 24.
The Marine Tavern’s rowing team will be headed up by Craig Harwood and Stephanie Von Clitz who will be rowing in full drag.
Meet at Marina Square from 10am to cheer the teams on. In the evening Stephanie Von Clitz will host a Drag Open Mic special at the Marine Tavern in Broad Street from 8pm.
Money raised will benefit Rockinghorse, the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexander Children’s Hospital who are supporters of the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton. The charity fundraises for items necessary for every child’s treatment, from toys to life-saving equipment.
Craig says: “When I was younger, I suffered a potentially life changing injury and it resulted in needing emergency surgery in the middle of the night. With the help of all those at the Children’s Hospital, the surgeons who were woken and the support staff, I wish to show my thanks for bringing me back to full health and making it possible for me to live a normal lifestyle. Please donate any money you can spare as this is a truly amazing cause.”
Rowers are still required, so if you are interested in having a great day out while raising money for a good cause, pop into the Marine Tavern and register your interest with Lee the owner.
The Marine want to raise £600 and to date have managed £120.
