International LGBTQ+ Travel Association Postpones Convention in Milan due to COVID-19

International LGBTQ+ Travel Association Postpones 2020 Global Convention in Milan

The IGLTA Board of Directors issued a statement this morning about postponing their conference.

“There are no more resilient, intrepid and confident travel leaders anywhere in the world than in the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association.

Therefore, we are determined to host our Annual Global Convention in 2020 in Milan. At the same time, we must be prudent and sensitive to health and safety precautions and to the actual conditions on the ground. We have decided to postpone our convention in Milan until this September/October.

We believe firmly in the resilience of travel and want to be part of the industry’s recovery when COVID-19 has been contained with confidence. We must, however, give all our participants time to prepare.

The outbreak of the coronavirus has left all of us with many unknowns. We will announce new dates and plans as soon as possible. We will join you in monitoring the situation closely through our Italian governmental contacts and trusted sources such as the World Health Organization.”

Since IGLTA began in 1983, the Annual Global Convention has been an essential part of the LGBTQ+ tourism outreach.  The conference enables the sharing of ideas among the leaders of the tourism industry and bringing travel professionals from around the world together for networking.  Showcasing destinations within the network.
