Lost Horizon‘s Bank Holiday party Love is Not Cancelled, a virtual festive rave up from Little Gay Brother and HE.SHE.THEY, is to raise funds for Opening Doors London and shine a light on how the pandemic is affecting vulnerable members of the LGBTQ+ over 50s community over the festive period on Monday, December 28 from 5.30pm.
Featuring a huge line up of DJs and hosts including ABSOLUTE, Eats Everything, Ellen Allien, Peach, SYREETA, with hosts Busola Peters, Lucia Blayke, Mairi Houston, Max The Tribrid and Tyreece, the party is set to can-can 2020 out the back door with a bang.
The event is taking place within Lost Horizon’s sprawling virtual multiverse, created by the team behind Glastonbury’s Shangri-La. It can be accessed through Sansar from any computer, tablet or phone – you don’t need special VR goggles, just the internet!
Sophia Kearney & Steven Braines of HE.SHE.THEY said: “This year has been incredibly difficult for everyone, especially those from marginalised communities and those who are vulnerable or isolated. Whilst in person partying is on pause we wanted to spread some seasonal joy in the best way we know how, with epic virtual DJ sets and sultry performers so you can party at home safely with us and help support those less fortunate in the process.”
Clayton, Founder of Little Gay Brother, added: “Whilst the clubs are closed and we can’t physically be with one another, Little Gay Brother x HE.SHE.THEY. wanted to unite to create a space where the LGBTQ+ community can come together, interact and celebrate the music that sets both tribes free.”
Funds raised from this paid stream will help Opening Doors London support the growing numbers of members who access their groups which target the specific needs of BAME over 50s, Black Asian Minority Ethnic Refugees, and The Rainbow Cafe which supports carers who look after their loved ones with dementia.
