Award-winning TV presenter Gok Wan has signed up to co-host, alongside Miss Rory, an online version of one of the UK’s biggest free LGBTQ+ events, Northern Pride, on July 24.
Northern Pride also announced that singer-songwriter MXYM and content creator Dami Fawehinmi will be interviewing members of the public and gathering stories from members of the public to share across the event.
Gok rose to fame in 2006 with his show How to Look Good Naked and has gone on to present a number of his own shows and documentaries, both in the UK and abroad. Along with TV work, Gok has enjoyed a successful career as a DJ, authored several cookbooks and is an ambassador for national LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall.
Ste Dunn, Director of Northern Pride, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have Gok joining Miss Rory to co-host the event this year and I think they’ll make an incredible team.
“While we won’t be able to celebrate Pride weekend in person this year, we have huge plans for Northern Pride Online 2.1, which everyone will be able to enjoy for free and from the safety of their own homes.
“We had an excellent online event last year and we can’t wait to build on that, with what is already shaping up to be an amazing day of entertainment for the community.”
