Graham Robson January 16, 2025

The National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire has collaborated with Racing Pride for a new exhibition, which explores hidden LGBTQ+ histories in motorsport.

The exhibition, Racing Pride: Celebrating the LGBTQ Community in Motorsport, will spotlight the personal journeys of LGBTQ+ individuals within the sport from karting, motorcycling, Formula One and stunt driving.

Visitors can expect to see images, objects and archive newsreels from as far back as the 1930s, offering a historic perspective on the LGBTQ+ experience in motorsport.

Richard Morris, Racing Pride CEO and co-founder, said: “Motorsport has a huge reach and by galvanising the sport to promote inclusivity, Racing Pride can inspire positive attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community in society more broadly.

“This exhibition seeks to inspire all LGBTQ+ people who visit it that they are valid, they are valued, and they belong in our sport.”

The exhibition will be in the In Focus Gallery from Sunday, February 9 until Sunday, September 7.
