Oliver Marmon, the fiancé of Union J star Jaymi Hensley, died from head injuries after falling from a hotel window, a coroner has revealed.
Oliver, 33, died in the early hours of August 12 after falling 30 feet from the third floor of the Hind Hotel in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.
Paramedics and police were called to the hotel at 11.30pm and battled to save the hairstylist’s life but he was pronounced dead at the scene an hour later.
Detectives arrested Jaymi on suspicion of murder but he was released after a forensic post-mortem examination carried out at Leicester Royal Infirmary ‘did not support’ Oliver’s death as homicide.
Oliver’s bereft family posted heartbreaking tributes calling him a ‘spiritual, gentle soul’ who was ‘beautiful both inside and out’.
He and Jaymi had been in a relationship since 2009 with the couple announcing their engagement in 2014.
The couple were due to wed in September with Jaymi using a quote from the late Queen Elizabeth II to describe Oliver as his ‘strength and stay’ during their 14-year relationship.
‘I will miss my little Oliver so much and don’t know how I will go on without him.’
I’m a touching heartfelt statement following his death, Oliver’s mother Julie and stepfather Steve Peacock said: ‘Words cannot express the devastation and heartbreak I feel over the loss of my beautiful youngest son Oliver, Olly to his friends.
‘I will miss my little Oliver so much and don’t know how I will go on without him.
In a statement issued in August, a spokesman for Jaymi read: ‘Jaymi Hensley would like to thank all the love, messages and prayers sent to him over the loss of his beautiful fiancé Oliver Marmon.
‘At this time the family would like the media to respect the privacy of Jaymi and Oliver’s family while they mourn the loss of Oliver.’
