Local LGBTQ+ historian Alf Le Flohic to tell the tale of a gay bar in a zoo

In 1983 a bunch of gay mates ran the cafe attached to the zoo in Bognor Regis as a gay bar and disco after hours, and they called it The Safari Bar.

On Wednesday, July 31, local LGBTQ+ historian Alf Le Flohic tells this tale of the wildly unexpected. There will be ageing contortionists, drag acts in the mud, an egotistical parrot, and x-rated caravans of love.

TRUE STORY TIME: The Gay Bar in a Zoo at Bottom’s Rest, 16 Lower Mark Street, Hove BN3 1AT on Wednesday, July 31 from 7pm, free entry.
