To represent the 190 days young people spend in school each year, LGBTQ+ youth charity Just Like Us is asking you to run, row, cycle, hike or swim 190km, or create your own 190-minute challenge, to fundraise for the charity and improve the lives of LGBTQ+ young people, so they can feel safer and happier at school.
Just Like Us said: “Growing up, we spend 190 days at school every year. For 91% of LGBTQ+ young people, those days are spent hearing homophobic and transphobic slurs as they walk the school corridors.
“In schools today, 42% of LGBTQ+ pupils are bullied. And they’re twice as likely to feel lonely every day at school.
“So, we’re inviting you to take the 190 challenge and fundraise for Just Like Us, helping to transform their days in school for the better.”
To take part, decide what your 190 challenge will be – it can be 190km or 190 minutes, and you can do it all at once or during Pride Month in June.
Create your Just Giving page, explaining why this cause matters to you, and get in touch with Just Like Us so the charity can help promote it.
