On Saturday, June 29 a group of Brighton based drag queens took London by storm as part of the Drag Bus float. Resident host on the bus Cherry Bomb was joined by Darcey Nox, Shallow Vera, Mary O’Kart and Didi Deville.
The queens were spreading a message of love, equality and inclusivity as tens of thousands of people cheered them on. The bus was also a celebration of 40 years of Stock, Aitken and Waterman, with a personal video message from Pete Waterman played to start the proceedings. Iconic SAW singers Hazell Dean, Miquel Brown and Sinitta joined the open topped Drag Bus team and helped to keep the atmosphere electric.
This is the first year the attraction has taken part in Pride in London having been launched in Brighton last year and then the capital a few months ago.
Managing Director Kevin Coyle says: “It truly was one of the most incredible days with an atmosphere which I can barely describe. At some points it was quite overwhelming to feel the amount of love and positivity coming from everyone cheering us on. It’s now made us really excited for the upcoming Pride events we will be taking part in including Pride In Surrey where we will be joined by some very special celebrity guests.”
