Anti-trans commentator Candace Owens banned from Australia

Candace Owens, who has claimed trans people are “clinically insane” and responsible for a rise in mass shootings, has had her visa rejected by the Australian government ahead of a national tour.

Immigration Minister Tony Burke said that Owens, who posts far-right, racist, anti-trans content to her millions of followers, can stay “somewhere else”.

Owens was to tour Australia in November, visiting cities such as Sydney and Melbourne. LGBTQ+ groups and politicians, however, opposed the touring because of her extreme views with the Immigration Minister saying he “hopes she has a good refunds policy”.

“From downplaying the impact of the Holocaust through to claims that Muslims started slavery, Candace Owens has the capacity to incite discord in almost every direction,” he said.

“Australia’s national interest is best served when Candace Owens is somewhere else.”

Candace Owens’ has a history of transphobic comments. She previously claimed the trans rights movement “is actually Satanic”, “clinically insane”, and “one of the most dangerous” and “evil” things.

In January, Candace declared the “entire LGBTQ movement brought with it a sexual plague on our society.”

In 2023, Candace Owens was demonetised by YouTube for her anti-trans videos in violation of the platform’s policies against “hateful and derogatory content.”
