The group meets every week on Zoom and once a month face to face at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre at Blackfriars. Members hail from some of the 67 countries where being LGBTQ+ is criminalised, such as Nigeria, Uganda and Ghana.
The group has been allocated 40 wristbands to march in the London Pride Parade on July 1. Members are spread across the country, and so the group needs to buy coach tickets to get them to London. They also need to have T-shirts printed, make banners and placards, and pay for refreshments on the day.
Queer Refugees Unite is run entirely by volunteers and all money raised will be spent on the above!
£10 will pay for a T-shirt for a member to wear at Pride.
£30 will ensure a member will be able to get a return coach from outside of London.
