DJ and presenter Woody Cook is to start the Youth Race, part of this year’s Brighton Half Marathon, which returns on Sunday, February 25.
On starting the Youth Race, a one-mile course designed for junior runners aged 7-17 located on Hove Prom, Woody said: “I have run the Brighton Half Marathon many times with my dad, it is one of the most uplifting and joyous races you can run. The Brighton & Hove residents are so supportive – turning out in all weathers to cheer on the runners.
“The course is incredible, taking in all my hometown’s most iconic spots. Starting the Youth Race is a real honour as I get the chance to encourage the kids and pass on my love of running.”
Woody joins other well-known faces also supporting the Brighton Half Marathon including TV personality James Argent, actor Connor Swindells, comedian and TV presenter Zoe Lyons, and DS Chris Oliver from Channel 4’s SAS Who Dares Wins who are all running in support of their chosen charities.
The Brighton Half Marathon Youth Race is once again supported by Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, which supports babies, children and young people, along with their families, at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex.
Places for the Youth Race are still available HERE but runners are urged to be quick as places are limited.
