Brighton & Hove Buses’ Santa Bus, which over the years has raised over £417,000 for charities, is returning to the streets of Brighton & Hove for the 21st year from 25 November until 23 December 2024, raising funds for 12 charities including LGBTQ+ mental health charity MindOut.
Donations for the Santa Bus, which will travel across 20 routes, over 20 nights, whilst raising money for 12 local charities, can be made via one of the local supporting business collection points or on the night to one of Santa’s Helpers as the Santa Bus passes by. Santa’s Helpers don’t knock on doors so head outside and give Santa a wave when you hear the Santa Bus coming. Non-cash donations can be made online via the Go Fund Me page.

Ed Wills, Brighton & Hove Buses’ Managing Director, said “We are absolutely delighted to bring the Santa Bus to the people of Brighton & Hove in what is now our 21st year. It’s great to take our Santa Bus into the furthest parts of the city, to places where people may not be able to visit the city centre and see the festive lights or visit a grotto. The Santa Bus has become an annual institution providing a free way to see Santa Claus and spread joy.
“It also raises money for local charities too, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donates, our customers, volunteers, and the local community for all their help and support.”
The 12 charities being collected for this year are: Amaze, Brighton & Hove Museums, Brighton Women’s Centre, Chestnut Tree House, Clock Tower Sanctuary, East Sussex WRAS Wildlife Rescue, FareShare Sussex & Surrey, Martlets, MindOut, Possability People, Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, and Together Co.
Santa Claus added: “Ho-Ho-Ho! What a delight it is to be back in Brighton & Hove. Make sure you give me and my elves a wave when we pass you by and don’t forget to follow the ‘elf and safety’ tips that can be found on the buses.co.uk website.”
