Plans to upgrade the Ledward Centre, Brighton & Hove’s LGBTQ+ centre, have been approved by Brighton & Hove City Council, meaning the centre will be closed for up to four months from December 1.

A spokesperson for the Ledward Centre said: “We’re delighted to finally be able to move on with some of our plans to upgrade Ledward Centre, which will allow us to host more events, meetings, meet ups, and to also upgrade the café with a wider choice of menu items and opening times.

“This is great news for us, though we will need to close Ledward Centre for up to four months.

“The popular Queer Makers’ Market on November 30 will be the last of our events before we close from December 1, and we’ll be making sure that we share progress as we move forward to reopening in spring next year.”
