On Saturday, December 7, join Queer Heritage South and the Clare Project at Ironworks Studios in Brighton to explore the vibrant trans, non-binary and intersex history of Brighton & Hove and contribute to a growing digital community archive!
For more than 10 years, Queer Heritage South has been celebrating the and promoting the rich cultural life of LGBTQ+ people in Brighton & Hove through heritage activities. Now home to a growing digital archive, Queer Heritage South seeks to preserve often-overlooked stories and artefacts integral to Brighton & Hove’s LGBTQ+ history.
Organisers of the event say: “This interactive workshop will explore the power of personal narratives in shaping the archive and celebrate the wide range of objects and ephemera that enrich our understanding of TNBI history. Participants will have the opportunity to catalogue and digitise their own personal items to be preserved in the Queer Heritage South digital archive. This is a free event and refreshments will be provided.”
Participants are encouraged to take one or more items relating to their own TNBI history they wish to add to the digital archive, and a smartphone or tablet if possible.
Free event. More info and schedule HERE
