Organisers of the event, which will raise funds for local HIV charity Sussex Beacon, said: “Paul always had a close connection to Brighton, whether through charitable work with the Sussex Beacon or his friendships with many iconic drag performers like Dave Lynn. Therefore, it only seems fitting that we pay tribute to this much loved and missed entertainer in true Brighton style.
“Starring Paul O’Grady’s friends and co-stars, theatre producer David Hill has put together the biggest variety show of 2023. For The Love of Paul will be a night of comedy, musical tributes, a star-studded drag queen pageant and more.
“The show has the full blessing of Paul’s husband Andre Portasio, and management. All profits of the show will be donated to the Sussex Beacon, providing care and support to people living with HIV/AIDS.”
The Sussex Beacon added: “We’re honoured that profits from the show will be donated to The Sussex Beacon. Our heartfelt thanks to Andre Portasio and E3 for their amazing support.”
For The Love Of Paul at the DoubleTree at Brighton Hilton Metropole on Saturday, December 30.
