Brighton & Hove LGBTQ+ Switchboard is inviting LGBTQ+ survivors of domestic abuse to reflect on 2023 at its free December Survivor Space event, hosted by the Domestic Abuse team from 11am – 2pm on Monday, December 18 at Community Base, 113 Queens Road, Brighton, BN1 3XG.
The charity will invite group members to mark the end of the year and chat about how to keep safe during the festive season when many services are closed. The team will also host their open, shared space, giving every participant the opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings in a confidential, safe environment.
Tea, coffee and cake will be available and there will be a chance to have fun playing festive-themed games.
You can reserve your place here.
Switchboard say: “Our Survivor Spaces are peer-support events co-produced with attendees. A Switchboard independent domestic violence advocate (IDVA) facilitates, guides conversation and provides support if required. The sessions are not therapeutic spaces, and the group agreement is reviewed at the beginning of each session.
“Domestic abuse can look different to every person. If you are not sure this space is right for you, please email domestic.abuse@switchboard.org.uk for a friendly chat.
“Please use the same email address if you have any questions.”
