Brighton Winter Fayre, which launched yesterday, will be closed this weekend due to high winds and adverse weather conditions.

The launch event brought together the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, local councillors, residents and visitors alike for festive entertainment, creative workshops, and seasonal cheer – all with a distinctly Brighton twist.

Held at St Peter’s Square, the Brighton Winter Fayre promises a packed programme for all ages, including immersive children’s workshops and carol singers to Winter Nights events for grown-ups.

Organisers Anne-Marie Chebib, Becky Stevens and Lisa Norman said: “We’re thrilled by the response to the first evening of the Brighton Winter Fayre,” said Anne-Marie, Becky, and Lisa. “The energy, diversity, and creativity of Brighton were on full display, and we’re incredibly proud to have brought this to life for the community.

“While we’re saddened to have to close this weekend due to the forecast weather, the safety of our visitors and staff must come first. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for the next two weekends.”

The Brighton Winter Fayre is expected to resume as usual for the following two weekends, running from 12–15 December and 19–22 December.
