Brighton & Hove Speak Out continuing to support people with learning disabilities during Coronavirus emergency

BRIGHTON AND HOVE SPEAK OUT supports adults with learning disabilities to speak up and be heard about things that matter to them. It is an independent charity providing a range of advocacy to support people to gain independence, choice, rights and be included and valued in the community. They are concerned that there are people with learning disabilities in isolation with little or no support who need help to understand guidelines to keep themselves and other safe and access vital support or supplies they need.

If you know of anyone who may need support or advice from Speak Out, please share this information with them.

Brighton & Hove Speak Out are continuing to offer the following support to people with learning disabilities during the Coronavirus emergency.

  • Telephone helpline – Monday-Friday 9-5 pm on 01273 421921
  • Check in calls – from Speak Out staff or a volunteer for people who are isolated and need this support.
  • Advocacy – over the phone or via video calls.
  • Online support including:
    • Advocacy groups via Zoom
    • Virtual drop-in sessions – Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 pm
    • Speak Out chat rooms – including an information hub where people with learning disabilities can get information about local support  bit.ly/SpeakOutChat
