Brighton & Hove Pride has announced the 2021 festival will go ahead on the weekend beginning August 6, with tickets on sale now. The annual LGBTQ+ event was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but is now returning for its 30th anniversary, with further details to be announced soon.
The official Pride organisation released a statement saying: “Pride is a hugely important event for our city and community groups and we are regularly reviewing our planning by working with strategic partners and Brighton & Hove City Council and following government guidelines, so if you plan to attend Pride this year we advise early booking as demand is already high and we may need to limit or amend capacities.”
Those who purchased first release tickets in 2020 and rolled them over to 2021 will not have to do anything as these tickets are already valid. Tickets can be purchased online for Fabuloso Pride in the Park, the Pride Village Party and the Pride campsite.
Brighton & Hove Pride has raised just under £1 mil for LGBTQ+ causes, distributed by the Brighton Rainbow Fund, since 2013, and has boosted the city’s economy by £20,500,000. £2 from each ticket and wristband sale will be ring-fenced as a charity contribution. Those wishing to volunteer at this year’s festival can fill out an application form online.
