Cllr Elaine Hills, chair of Brighton & Hove City Council’s (BHCC) Corporate Parenting Board, is calling for more people in the city to become foster carers.
Cllr Hills said: “The impact our foster carers can have on transforming the lives of our children and young people cannot be overstated.
“Our fostering team offers first class training and 24-7 support. And unlike some independent fostering agencies we are of course a not-for-profit service.
“We welcome interest in fostering from all sections of our diverse community, regardless of your marital status, race, disability, sexuality or gender.
“Our team is successfully working to assess and approve new foster carers during the pandemic within government guidelines.”
