Brighton’s Big Screen, the FREE beachfront cinema has announce the line-up for this year’s season, which takes place from July 30 – August 26, 2013.
Located on Brighton Beach next to the Brighton Pier and the Wheel, Brighton’s Big Screen season runs for 28 days and will showcase some of the biggest recent box office hits including, Life of Pi, Les Miserables, The Hobbit and Oblivion along with movie classics including, Anchorman, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Grease, Brighton Rock and Quadrophenia.
The gigantic 40sqm screen will also broadcast a selection of this summer’s top live sporting events including The Ashes, the World Athletics Championships and Formula 1, along with Disney favourites for the little ones including UP, Finding Nemo and Ratatouille.
There will be a seated grandstand, VIP area, licensed bar and refreshment area for all to enjoy along with special themed weekends and evenings including:
- Duke’s on the Beach with the Duke of York’s Picture House, showing The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the Stone Roses: Made of Stone, the Imposter and the recently released A Field in England.
- Late night showings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Zombieland in association with Tulleys Farm Shocktober Fest.
- All or Nothing the MOD Musical – Before the showing of Quadrophenia, MOD and music enthusiasts alike will be treated to a special showcase performance of All or Nothing the MOD Musical featuring a star studded cast and the music of the quintessential Mod band, the Small Faces.
- AMI Showcase (Artists Moving Image) will showcase moving image work from talented local filmmakers including students from Brighton University, Homegrown films and The Brighton Youth Film Festival.
- Big Screen Kids’ Scene with the Starr Trust and Brighton Sealife Centre weekdays from 10am – 12noon.
Entry is FREE but you can also pre book tickets to the exclusive VIP grandstand to ensure seating, high quality audio and receive a free cone of popcorn! Tickets cost £3 for a child, £6 for an adult or £15 for a family ticket.
