Bear-Patrol, the social networking group for bears and their friends are organising a coffee, cake and scones morning at The Queens Arms, George Street on Saturday, June 11 to raise funds for the Sussex Cancer Fund (SCF).
SCF has been giving invaluable assistance to The Sussex Cancer Centre at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton since 1981 in the form of additional equipment and building improvements for the treatment and comfort of cancer patients attending the department. Money raised at the Queens Arms will go towards purchasing a new Chemotherapy Chair for the Unit.
The Centre treats thousands of Sussex people each year but as their success in treating cancer increases so do the number of people who look to them for help.
The Coffee Morning event will take place on Saturday, June 11 from 11am til 2pm at The Queens Arms, George Street, Brighton, BN2 1RH.
On the day there will also be a registered nurse on hand to help guys check their testicles in order to help raise awareness of testicular cancer.
A chemotherapy chair costs around £1,000 to purchase so Bear-Patrol have set up a fundraising page.
