Sussex-based LGBTQ+ youth charity Allsorts Youth Project is currently seeking to recruit an experienced and knowledgeable Family Support Worker who can creatively devise, develop and deliver a range of services and interventions to support parents, carers and the wider families of LGBTQ+, and, in particular, trans and non-binary children and young people.
The successful candidate will join a growing, professional and passionate team who support LGBTQ+ and exploring children, young people and their families and challenge exclusion, prejudice and discrimination in all areas of their lives.
Ben, Allsorts Family Support Service Manager, says; “The new worker will offer our existing Family Support Services, one-to-one support and parents/carers support groups, whilst developing some innovative and exciting new services such as a siblings group, parent/carer buddying scheme and more!
“We are very excited to be expanding this area of our work in order to meet the ever rising need for family services as part of a holistic approach to supporting LGBTQ+ children & young people across Sussex.”
Allsorts’ new full-time position at £27,041 pa is open to all members of the LGBTQ+ community and LGBTQ+ allies, and will offer a two-year fixed term contract (subject to passing probation and funding thereafter). Deadline for applications is Monday, November 29 at 9am.
The charity particularly encourage applications from PoC, those with disabilities/ neurodivergence and/or those who are from other marginalised groups in society, as these groups are currently underrepresented in the Allsorts workforce and the wider charity sector.
