The artist behind ‘Tay’, Brighton and Hove’s Aids Memorial sculpture, Romany Mark Bruce, joined the Rainbow Fund grants panel last night to mark the installation of a new information plaque for the memorial in the New Steine, installed ahead of World Aids Day.

Rainbow Fund Chairman Paul Elgood said: “Tay – the iconic Aids Memorial has very much become part of our community, with people taking it to their hearts. When we originally commissioned this stunning piece of art, we were so lucky to work with the hugely talented local artist Romany Mark Bruce. The new plaque provides information on the sculpture and was funded by the Rainbow Fund.”

‘Tay’ – the Brighton and Hove Aids Memorial was unveiled by Mr David Furnish in October 2009 and paid for by money raised from community events.
