Eleven ways to support Terrence Higgins Trust this Pride season

Graham Robson June 25, 2024

Pride season is an opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQ+ communities, reflect on the distance travelled and take meaningful action to advance equality. It’s also a time when brands, venues and people across the country step up to raise vital funds. LGBTQ+ people have been some of the loudest voices in the fight against HIV since the dark days of the epidemic – that is still the case today.

Here are 11 different ways you can show your support for the work of HIV / sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust this Pride month. Your purchases and support will help the charity’s work to end new HIV cases in the UK by 2030, and to support people living with HIV.

Next

Next’s Pride collection

Next is supporting Terrence Higgins Trust’s work for the third consecutive year with its Pride collaboration. Over the month of June, 10% of all proceeds from their charity bouquet will be donated to the charity. There is also a collection of three personalised prints – you can choose the artwork as well as the text, with 100% of sales going to the charity.

And keep your eyes peeled, because Next is also launching a beauty box with makeup products, which will also raise vital funds to support people living with and affected by HIV.

Curated by conductor Oliver Zeffman, Classical Pride returns to the Barbican in an expanded five-day festival showcasing the breadth and diversity of LGBTQ+ artists across classical music — with appearances from stars including RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Monet X Change and Thorgy Thor. As well as Terrence Higgins Trust, the event is also supporting LGBTQ+ charities Amplifund and Rainbow Railroad.

The Big Shave Off

Another key part of Pride is community and joining together with others in the community and our allies. After the success of last year’s Big Shave Off at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, we’re returning this summer in London and Brighton for an evening of amazing people braving the shave live on stage.

Register your interest to brave a shave at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in support of Terrence Higgins Trust in London on Thursday, 11 July or Charles Street Tap in Brighton on Thursday, 29 August.

Your pre-loved Pride outfit

There’s only one Terrence Higgins Trust charity shop, which is part of what makes Boutique in London’s Pimlico so special. The shop has beautiful bargains all year round – including many designer items – but pop along and meet the fantastic team to find some brilliant pieces for your Pride outfit.

MUBI

MUBI’s Pride Unprejudiced season celebrates the vast mosaic of queer life captured on film. From SHIVA BABY to A SINGLE MAN, the charity has partnered to offer you 30 days free streaming. Sign up for a free month of LGBTQ+ films.
